Social media is a great way to engage in conversations, especially with the recent flooding in the Sedona area. During an emergency, it is easy to get confused. Informed communities are helpful and support each other.
A few people asked why the official evacuation location was in Camp Verde. Sedona Councilor Kathy Kinsella quickly responded to the question “Yavapai County was the lead for emergency response. They arranged for a location to serve a wider area, including Camp Verde, Page Springs, Cornville…. Available resources (personnel, supplies, coordination of making a space suitable) need to be concentrated to be efficient.” Thank you, Councilor Kinsella. This makes perfect sense.
This post is intended to share and build our community network. Below are a few helpful links. I find the Yavapai County Emergency Notification Program to be extremely helpful. They send text messages and call whenever we have an emergency happening. Link to sign up Yavapai County is the lead for our community Emergency Management
