Sometimes I come across something that sparks my curiosity which leads me to think and research it. I come from a background of highly regulated industry working with all levels of governments including international governments, countries. Each country has different requirements, each one inspected analized our products, process and facility for compliance. If we didn’t comply our products were not permitted in that country. Each country having their own type of FDA. We were required to have a defined process, procedure, where records were kept for every step in the process and where Quality Assurance inspections, verifications occurred throughout the entire process.
In the high tech world proprietary processes, confidentially and competition are serious issues. Employees are required to sign Non-Disclosure agreement, Non-Competition and Proprietary Information policy.
How does that play out in the Pubic arena ?
Is there a conflict of interest when one is paid for yet uses such to enrich themselves or the company they work for? Does pubic policy protect the assets of the peoples? Is there the need to have Non-Disclosure agreement, Non-Competition and Proprietary Information policy in the pubic sector when they outsource millions of dollars?
The CEO started a company at the same time she worked for the Sedona Chamber under contract with city. Did she travel and start this company with the public dollars? Or did she use proprietary information obtained through the no-bid contract with the city for personal gain?
While we have this conversation some will ask “Is this ethnically okay?”
I come from a world were these type of legally binding agreements are made and where the three P’s in continuous improvement are driving factors.
